My first award winning photo!

I have been a photographer for only about 18 months now. I submit some of my work to a website called railpictures.net. Recently i submitted a photo that took home the #1 Peoples Choice Award for photos submitted the previous week. It beat out almost 900 other photos for that honor, and the fact that contributors to the site voted for it means even more to me. Hopefully for me, it is the first of many award winning shots.

First off, thank you all for the nice words. It means a lot when other people see my work as the way i see it.

I am thinking of entering this into a railroad photography contest. It fits the theme for this year, which is "Light". I think it might have a chance at grabbing an award. We will see.

To the people that responded to this thread, What do you like most about the picture? There are so many things about it that i like, that i cant narrow it down to one particular thing that stands out to me. its a mix of everything coming together to make a great picture in my eyes. like the way the rails are shining, the sun shining thru the fog, the sun itself, and the way the train is cutting through the picture.

Great shot!

I like how the ray of sun goes through the fog. Nice composition, how the train came behind from the trees. It is truly an award winning photo.
