Alright, so you have the perfect location picked out for a family portrait - nestled gracefully under some beautiful trees along the water's edge. Wouldn't it be nice to capture the portrait reflection in the water? Except, that would mean the camera would have to be hovering over the water (lake) about 18 feet out into the lake/bay, maybe it's shallow, maybe not. What to do, what to do. Have you been in this situation before? What did you do?

I have been I think. We went to the Sirava, is maybe the biggest lake in Slovakia, its a man made lake. So, we went there for a fishing, and I found it soo boring, so I took my camera, took off all my clothes except my swimwear :D and went as far into the water as I could. So, I took a few pictures from the water viewing out to the beach. So, its pretty cool idea to take pictures from the water, but there is a bit danger: beware the water from you camera, haha .
I have been there. I have a shot in my profile where I shot the girl while I was in the water too. I was sitting so she stood out more............of course I'm not in WA where the water is freezing. What lake do you want to use, Long Lake?
Ya Robert, my camera has a water phobia (hee hee)!
Long Lake would be nice! I've been going around to all the local parks with lakes or puget sound beaches trying to find the best water spot. I think I'll end up with a beach image with no water probably. I'm going to check out your little girl photo right away!
Thanks for you replies!
Shes not a little girl, she was a nineteen year old in a bikini :)
...I realize this now. Ha ha ha! By the way, do you sleep? ;-]
I havent slept in a while. Ive been dealing w/ kidney stones and they tend to get worse at night when I lay down. The doc gave me pain killers and flowmax to help (they both cause drowsiness) and then he tells me to walk a lot........lol. Thats a doc for ya :)
Aw, I'm sorry to hear that, I've heard those are very painful! I hope it all goes away very soon.
Ah, so do you wear those rubber fishing pants?
Find a low pier that way you can walk out about 20 to 30 feet and you will seem like you are on the water while they walk up the shore 10 to 20 feet.
