So as you probably now, I'm using Canon EOS 400D, which has integrated sensor cleaning system. Well, it doesn't do its job pretty good. Photos I took in the last month have disgusting marks on them and I have to remove them manually.

I think I can do two things:
* clean the sensor manually and risk a lot
* remove the dust via canon software (i heard it finds the dust and then commands the camera where to remove the dust)

I'm not sure how I'll handle the first option, but the second ... well I kinda can't find my Canon Software CD and so I can't install the software. On their website, I can only download the updates but not the actual software.

Help me out please, I'm in a dead end.

Steve Paxton wrote a pretty helpful article on the subject of Cleaning a Digital SLR Sensor.
Yes, I bought this set that came with an air blower, a brush, a cleaning sollution and 10 cleaning swabs. Those shouldn't be there because I think I did some damage on the sensor. I have to take a look at new photos to see what I've done.
Adobe's Lightroom also has a healing filter that will do a quick cleanup on problem area's of you sensor. You can batch hundreds of photo's at once.

You can also take it to your local Camera Shop and have them clean it for you? They can prob instruct you on further cleaning if you pay for in once.
I have the same problem. I took some photos and saw a lot of marks on the picture. While I believe it's dust on the "sensor", something's telling me that the dust is in the mirror or the groundglass. Isn't it when you remove the lens, the first one you'll see is the mirror? Everytime I look and check, i see dust particles in the mirror so make sure if it's the sensor or mirror.
i take mine in to the camera shop (a certified canon dealer) and pay to have it done. they guy was telling me that he uses a new product he bought at a trade show that's like a brush, but is has an electro-magnetic charge to it, and all he does is place it in there near the sensor and it attracts the dust and pulls it off the sensor. he doesn't actually touch it. sounds pretty safe to me. i'm not sure if you can buy this tool yet or if it's new or what. but that's my two cents...
if you dont mind me asking, how much does it cost to clean the sensor. thanks!
i'm pretty sure it was around $25.
