Pretty clever! Made one myself and it works better than expected. I even went as far as making one that I can clip on to 2 front belt hoops as opposed to standing on it. You'll see what I mean after you check out the link.

Wow, this is a very good idea... i'm really very sleepy right now and i couldn't understand what i'm reading in the site. haha... is it just me or is there someone who knows how to use this string tripod? :)
It's really easy to use. I made one with 3 small carabiners & nylon rope that I clip to my belt hoops and to the camera. It's amazing how it works. I tried the one that you stand on and found it to bothersome. With the belt clips, I can unhook it from the camera and let it hang.

Ohhh i see... haha! thanks! now i know... but as the image shown above, is that the right way to hold the camera using a string tripod?
Hold it anyway you feel comfortable.
Oohh great. Then I should get goin' with the string tripod now. I think it's really handy and you could always carry wherever you go. Did you assemble that all by yourself? Hehe...
