I have a Canon EF 70-300mm telephoto zoom lens. When I focus (autofocus) on something up close, the camera won't snap the picture. There are several indicators flashing within my eye piece. I have no clue what they mean nor how to compensate for them. Anyone have any ideas?
If it will not take the shot you are closer then the minimal distance for that lens. I have done the same thing with my Canon XTi and a 75-300 lens. I had to back off some to take the shot.
You probably need a macro lens or shorter focal length for the shot your trying to get if not try using manual setting with manual focus. If thats not working you are too close to your subject for that telephoto.
