Hello all photography enthusiasts,

I saw no mention of Adobe Lightroom, which a $199 photography software program developed by Adobe Systems, designed to assist professional photographers in managing thousands of digital images and doing post production work. It is an image management application database which helps in viewing, editing and managing digital photos.

I find it very useful, since it is fast, produces good results, and allows me to look through my raw files. I love the simplicity of this program, yet how much can be achieved with so little. I especially love the presets I can apply to my photos, which can eliminate much wasted time.

Has anyone had experience with Lightroom? How do you like it? What are your thoughts?

I have the 2.0 beta installed right now, and just sent off for the full upgrade. Adobe has some good product teaser videos out on their site if you want to view.
I just received and installed 2.0 the other day. Have been going through it. Like the new features.
Can't wait to get mine!
I have just resently purchased Lightroom 2. The use of it is really easy from the beginer to the pro. I started out by using Lightroom 1.3 Demo and was in love with it. So I decided to buy it. To my surprise they sent me the new version 2. The tools are easyer to use and it does have some additional features that I like. Although I still have alot to learn about the program I think it is a good buy. My wife and I also just bought Photoshop CS3 Extended. Even though I do not know alot about how to use it my wife does. The new tools in it are GREAT!!!!
I have CS3 web premium on mine. wonder how the integration is for it? Let us know if you (or your wife) find any tips/tricks we can all use.
Web Premium is a different program than I have, but all the Adobe's are relatively built the same. And I know enough about that kinda stuff to get by. What exactly are you trying to accomplish?
I do know with the new versions that they have what is called Adobe Bridge. Which is a great tool for moving your projects from one program to another. But i will talk to her and have her put in her two cents.
I have Bridge as well, and would certainly appreciate the insight!
I have been using LR2 and really like it. For those of you that have kids still in school your eligible for an academic copy. Just find a site selling academic software like campustech.com.

I think LR is $99.
Basically, Light room is the most amazing software I've ever used when it comes to efficiency and time saving category... Yes I've been using L.R. 2.2 for almost 2 months now. It has a great workflow i t enables the user to process RAW file in a most convenient way. Besides, my most favorite thing is that I could make a user defined preset -i.e. wth just one CLICK i coud achieve my favorite style and etc..
If anyone of you wondering how an HDR photo could be achieve- Well with Lightroom this is just a piece of cake. I'll tell you, Lightroom offers non-destructive HDR manipulation.. I can share here my presets if someone insist...
How about making a FREE Adobe Lightroom Presets SHaring and Discussion? I guess it would be a great help for everyone on this site..
Anthony,

We do have a Lightroom group here on PictureSocial. I have many links there and we can always share through there.

Thanks,
Earl
Hello Earl!

How does the categorizing/search features of Lightroom compare with Photoshop Elements's Organizer function? I have a very old full version of Photoshop, and Photoshop Elements 6.0. Should Lightroom be on my (attainable) wish list? I have hundreds of photos scattered on CDs and hard drive folders. I want to get that cleaned up . . . soon.
