There seems to be a trend for some people to dump every picture they have on this site without regard for content or orientation. I understand and welcome photographers posting photos on this site that want to compare their work to others and get input on how to improve what their art. I just find photos that are batched processed and not even oriented properly objectionable. Is there anyone else out there that feels that this practice total disrespect for our art?

yes i would say so....unless i have contradicted myself and done it too?
Yup, agree. But art or not is really up to personal views, some people might think that their photos are 'artsy' but maybe for some those are 'just pictures'. So, I think it's difficult to determine which ones are art and which ones are not...
though prehaps making the bulk loader a little less bulky would discourage those deliberately uploading every photo and only allow them to pick their specific favourites! This may help to decrease the volume of 'lets just stick it up there anyway' photos!
i would like to be a first to apologise for being one of the bulk uploaders i often take photos and believ them to be of good quality before taking a step back and realy looking i think the main reason for this is the bulk uploader being able to upload a 100 photos at a time does often make it easy to add what ever
Nicely said, Rob ;-)
To me photography is self expression, thats why it becomes an art, not to many but for some or for someone and we have to respect that regardless of its quality and the manner how it was taken. But im sure everyone and anyone knows how to tell what is beautiful and what is not. So infairness to those who share their photos with great pride because they want it to look beautiful whatever their concept is, I and i guess anyone who shares this concern would like to ask others to do the same, put pride in your work by sharing your best achievements in photography, and not the whole contents of your memory cards (LOL) it could be anything as long as there is love and effort in achieving it. Isnt nice that your photos would be loved by so many rather than just your own self? the more the merrier, right? there is more behind than just expressing your self, stand out and show ur best!
Everyone Who has posted so far have all stated valid points and would agree with me, that it is not our aim to stifle artistic expression, but to encourage it. That is what I personaily value this site for! I would like each one of you for your thoughtful contributions. the group has stated this position far better that I could have alone!!!
ride on!
Hi jadeast, Hmmm, thats an interesting thought.....but what if the people you are accusing actually think they're putting up great stuff. I understand what your saying but "Whats one mans trash is another man's treasure". Art is just a matter of taste. Who's to say what was dumped or artistically driven?
Perhaps the guilty parties do think they're putting up great stuff. It wasn't my purpose in posting this debate to simply vent my opinion, but to invite whatever opinions people may have. It wouldn't be much of a debate in my opinion if everyone agreed. I have long ago learned that I usually learn more from somone who disagrees with me than one who agrees. your point is well taken and not the only one of this view. I am usually disappointed in a discussion that doesn't generate some contrary opinions.
I agree too, as long as you aren't talking about my trash.
Great comment Todd, that one gave me a laugh!!
