I have just joined PictureSocial and from what little I have seen this is a fantastic group! Although I have uploaded a few pictures already and look around a little there is still much to see.
I have been taking pictures since I was a child but not on a professional level. Maybe now is the time to spread my wings a little. There seems to be a lot of information to be gained on these forums and I for one need all the help I can get :)
Hi Pattie :-) Well, you found a perfect place for photographers ;-) The people here are so supportive, this site has sooo many talents to learn from! You can simply start a discussion forum for your questions, and I'm sure people will answer ;-) So, once again, welcome and have fun with the site! :-)

Hello Pattie. I too am a newcomer to this site but like you I'm very impressed. I'm also just an amateur but hope to learn from the great people here. As a nurse I've been quite busy of late but am hoping to get some pix on here soon.
At the moment I'm using a Canon EOS 300D but I'm thinking about swapping to a smaller one that I can get in my bag or pocket....but will I get the same results? I saw some pix today that had been taken with a 3 megapix mobile phone and they were superb. it's all very confusing. val
Hi Val, I think we have found a great place in which to enhance our photography skills. I understand the confusion you speak of. I am still in awe that a phone can take anything that resembles a picture...(am I showing my true age here).
Right now I am using a Rebel XTI but hope to upgrade soon. I have a couple of pieces of glass that make the shooting experience enjoyable.

Phew Pattie, slow down ;-)) Pieces of glass?? Actually I have some pieces of glass that go with my sigma lens but haven't a clue how to use them, I'll be back. I have an early start tomorrow and a busy clinic. Talk later.
