HI!

Hello picturesocial.
i am new here about say 2 weeks ago
I have a nikon d40 (any comments on this!)
anyhow, i love to view others pictures and learn more about this world so hit me up to chit chat or give me comments on any picture i have posted
p.s. im a cheerleader and i think this picture of me is hilarious!

The D40, is a great camara, its a entry level Dslr, but it is sophistigated enough for pro-work, If you bought a kit lens, 18-55 mm, lens, you're soon going to want to add the 55 to 200, lens,,, which is excellent, for macro's and telephoto,
also you may find your getting a lot of blown highlights, just notch down your exposure mode, about a stop or two, and you'll be fine.

I have a D40, and I like it a lot...Welcome to Picture Social,, its a great place, and good people...Good Luck, with your photo's and don't be afraid to post them, I would like to see more.

Love the picture as you look like you are enjoying yourself.

I am a Canon user myself but a few of my friends have gone for the Nikon D40 which seems to give excellent results.

Check out this site for reviews as they are amongst the best and well respected sites on the net.

Hi Christina, welcome to Picture Social! I hope you enjoy it here =). Regarding Nikon D40, I don't know much about it but I heard from other people who are using it, that it's a pretty good camera (and some even prefer D40x for bigger pixels), but let me tell you this, it's the user who takes beautiful pictures, not the camera ;-).

Hey Christina,

I was at Fenway Park yesterday and there was a lot of cameras. But the one I saw the most was the D40, so Nikon must have done something right with it. But as Reza said, it's the user, not the camera.

No comment on the Nikon D40 except that Nikon doesn't make a bad camera. Agree with Reza: the best equipment in the world will only augment the skill of the photographer.
