Anyone shooting with the Rokinon/Samyang 85mm f/1.4 Aspherical lens with a Nikon camera?

I'm looking to purchase this lens.  Specifically, I have a question about the "focus confirm chip" that is offered with, or not with, the Nikon mount version, and what it would actually allow on my D300.  I'm hoping my camera will be able to confirm focus without said chip; I would assume the chip is for newer, entry-level bodies.

Any help here?
