Alright, so I'm a part of this campaign. Myself and my friend,
John, have both been a part of it since its beginning. It's called the "4 Elements" campaign on Brickfish, and yes, it's an art contest to portray the four elements (fire, air, earth, water) in best way. It will hand out $750 to whoever wins, and yes, it's being closely contested by a mixture of bland photography and children's anime:
(1st and 2nd place, respectively), as well as our photography. We photography connoisseurs here on PictureSocial should be appalled to see those in the top spots. But, they are, and there's only one thing we can do about it:
VOTE. This is almost like a popularity contest. These people have admitted that
they've literally spammed sites they've never been to and linked people to their work and received votes that way. But we aren't going to do that. I love you guys, and I love being a part of art communities where I've actually interacted with the people on there. I haven't shot photography that much lately, but I'm still active on art communities like deviantART, Flickr, and here (granted I haven't been here in awhile due to school). You guys could really help us out. By going to the links below, you can vote on our pieces and however many other pieces you want to, and you can vote for the same piece ONCE EVERY 8 HOURS. That's right:
you can keep on voting every 8 hours! Don't vote if you don't think our pieces are better than the two pieces above, though. However, I honestly feel we've done a better job at depicting one of the four elements. Look below.
HELP US OUT:
Click the links below to go to our photos (click my thumbnails, and John's link), then click the little green "Vote for this Entry" button, and you're done! You can vote for all three of them!
And please, bookmark, vote twice a day, or once a day. It would really help us out. If you could post this journal on your page and get other people to do it, that would be amazing! I'd really appreciate it!
Hell,
enter the contest and I'll start linking you and voting on yours to. We need to see some real photography win!
