dear friends, i was intending to buy a cannon 5d mark ll purely for the purpose of its video function. Was told it shoots full screen and it is of unbelievable HD quality and it shoots in 30fps. I was all ready to go for it when i was told that there is a 7D on market which allows u to shoot 24fps and 60fps! so the doubt. Can anyone please help me out here to decide. Remember that my requirement is mainly for a film that i intend to shoot. As i write this i am also told that there is a camera called SCARLET on the way from RED which shoots at 3K resolution! confusion reigns.. any help would be most welcome. thx

I have the 7d and its a very fine camera but I am also going to be getting the 5d mark II as I shoot alot of press photography. I enjoy the 7d although I am not really familiar with it yet as I have been using Olympus cameras for years. The video function is great on the 7d and the shots per second is huge. I hope this helps a little. Pat
Thank u so much Pat. Been doing a little research on the net and i am more or less decided to go in for 7D as of now. As and when Scarlet does come to the market, i will test that too. One more doubt creeps up. On a 7D how does one do follow focus? Is it done manually or does the auto focus function take care of that too??????? Pat, any help on that front?
Well I use the motion focus feature and on still shots get a very hight rate of in focus shots even in a really fast game like hurling. Its not a perfect camera and somethings are still a mystery to me but getting more used to it all the time.
