There are a couple friendly contests that are run in this website. One of them in particular is a bi-weekly challenge. It is a two discussion set up, where one week you post any of your picts (relating to the topic) and discussion is welcome. The next week you post your official entry in a seperate discussion. After everyone posts, then voting starts, a winner is chosen and they pick the topic for the next contest.
Our problem is, that we get a fair amount of posts in the first discussion, but, hardly any in the second, which is the one that counts...
Why? Why would you submit to a discussion portion of a contest but not the voting? Any suggestions on how to get more responses in both discussions? This is a good contest because the people there are nice, and there's no pressure. I would hate for it to come to an end.
You can send an email if you and the recipient are friends. The group decided to do it that way to lessen the voters feeling of being watched. Although I also participate in that one occassionally and it is easier. Not sure which method is easier for the vote counters???
