It is easy to create as it is to get rid of it.. it is just an example to people thinking of doing something like to there picture's. well done Mr. larson

It is actually quite easy to go by watermarks if you are facing someone who knows his stuff. So watermarking can just protect you from casual users, who admittedly, would not do that much harm.  Though if you would really want one, Paintshop Pro would get you places. You can just use a template with your name on it. That way, you can make sure of getting quality images as that is a full blown editor anyway.
Both Lightroom 3 and Photoshop CS5 have the capability to watermark.  I place not only a watermark, but data inside the photo.  CS5 has a cool action that will make the watermark easy to produce.
Can someone tell me where you can compress your photo files in Corel Paingshop 3 or in Canon's DPP software?

In Canon's DPP under File, choose Convert and Save.  Below the file name there is a Quality setting slider, Output setting and Resize setting.  Choosing a lower image quality or resizing to a smaller size will reduce the file size.  Save the file to a different name so you keep your original in case you want to go back and edit it later.

I don't have Corel installed at the moment.  I think it will have a similar arrangement though.
