A couple of weeks ago I went to the Aquarium used the Aquarium setting captured several good photos though some had a blur when I go back I want to have a 8 gb card and use a good setting to not get a blur would av setting work the highest setting also what to set iso on? any info would be good thanks misty
you should put the lens up against the glass any opportunity you can. This decreases the glare and some blur. Your ISO, etc will depend on the amount of light, etc in the building and where you will be. If you want good DOF then use an F5, or even an F11 if you can get real close. If you ISO is too high ( like 800-1600) in a dark building you will have grainy noise in your photographs. I like to keep my ISO at about 400. I'd have to see the environment in which you were shooting. being an aquarium, the light could be bright or quite dark....which is it?
corrine, I am new to stuff can you explain dof f5 or f11 and close to the glass does that mean shot through the glass some of my pics did turn out good mostly jellyfish ones... most of the time this place is dark
Misty.......When shooting through glass, it's best to place the lens against the glass as this reduces any glare. It may be hard to do using a flash however being that the environment is dark. F 5 or F11 are your aperture settings and controls the depth of Field (DOF) and whether the subject is clear and the background is blurred (on purpose) . I would suggest reading the camera manual and learn more about the settings. If you are unsure about all of these settings, then shoot in Auto mode. with flash until you can become more familiar and comfortable with more manual settings.
