Greetings to all

I happened upon this site a few days ago and liked it so I joined.

I'm not new to photography--loved it since high school when I had several of my photos in my school's yearbooks. I graduated from the Photography program at North Georgia Technical & Vocational School way back in 1976 (I think) when film ruled.

I didn't get much work in photography after that though so I eventually enlisted in the US Air Force after a few years managing restaurants. There I worked in computer operations and became quite good. I studied everything about my job and rose to the rank of SSgt (E-5) in under 4-years. I also earned an Associate of Applied Science degree and then a Bachelor of Science degree in Computers.

I next went to Officer Training School and was commissioned a 2d Lt. As an officer, I worked in the same general field as I did while enlisted--only expanded. Now I was in Communications and Computers. I had several very interesting assignments from working in the SAC underground Commmand Post at the outset of the Gulf War, to being assigned to the 5th Combat Communications Group and deploying to Germany during the Kosovo crisis and then to the Middle East when Saddam started massing his troops along the Kuwaiti boarder after the Gulf War.

Now I'm retired from active duty and after teaching Jr ROTC a couple of years, I'm looking for other employment and also working on photography when I can get a gig.

I'm heavily into digital photography now and am rapidly leaning the ins-and-outs of Photoshop (love that software). Just upgraded to my Canon 40D, late last spring and am glad I chose the 40D.

I'm starting to experiment with HDR imaging and hopefully will have some shots to share with everyone sometime in the near future.

Right now I'm highly involved in shooting Soccer matches--my youngest daughter plays for Piedmont College.
