The Photography Network - PictureSocial

My name is Jenny and I hope to become a successful photographer - committing to a full-time schedule of capturing people in action and enjoying every minute of it. I am just starting and not able to purchase all the "gotta have it" items. However if you have any suggestions of "should have it" items, please drop me a note or just a "hi" is welcome too! I heard the photography world is a dog eat dog world but by becoming a new member at PictureSocial, I see otherwise. There is a lot of great work and I hope to learn while sharing my work and thoughts with you.

Hi Jen :-D Welcome aboard the PictureSocial.com ship ;-) Best of luck and have fuuun! :-D
Hi Jenny and all the best for your new career. Don't forget a good tripod which can carry enough weight in case you buy yourself good and heavy lenses in the future - I can recommend the Manfrotto brand in case you can get it in the US. All the best, Martin.
thanks Martin. The picture of the two kids on the slide is fun :)

Hi Jenny,
Only real gotta have item you need is a good eye!
Ok so gear is kind of important but I would not get too wrapped up in it, just build it up as you go.
Enjoy the site.
Cheers,
Simon

Hi Jenny,

Have you decided on what camera you want to use? If you are new to photography, the choices can be daunting. A basic night school course can be very helpful, and would give you some idea of what Professional photography is all about.

Martyn
