Not that i'm a seasoned professional but i know plenty about photography and do it for a living. If you have any questions or anything i'm here to help.
I think this entire site is one big giant mentor.Just ask your questions and you will get tons of answers. Just remember a mentor will teach you their style and you may lose your own. You want to choose your mentor and not let your mentor choose you.
Hello Eric,
I dont know where you are at technically but I would highly recommend learning proper exposure to start with. Bryan Peterson's "Understanding Exposure" & Jim Zuckerman's "Perfect Exposure" are 2 very good books. You may also consider taking a couple of online classes. I have taken a few at www.betterphoto.com and they have a wide selection of classes for various levels from proper techniques, photoshop, weddings, lighting, coral painter, HDR & Infrared, macro and much more.
Knowing how to control your camera and obtaining correct exposure is essential to be able to capture an image the way you want to rather than letting the camera decide this for you. You can be more artistic and expressive with your photography controlling the way the camera is capturing the light. I also recommend a good tripod as this allows so much more options for shooting scenarios (night, slow shutter, macro) and I believe that one of the things that seperate a pro from an amatuer is that the pro understands & is willing to carry their tripod everywhere.
Ask away with any specifics. Photography is a fun learning curve and after a little knowledge & practice, you will see great improvements in your art.
Cheers, Carlton
Good morning all thanks for the comments. This is the place for sharing photos and having a chat there will also be games and other ideas.TJ has suggested a relay game. That goes like this perhaps you start out with a farm photo and ask for a pig.The next person posts a pic of a pig and asks for bacon. The next person posts a pic of bacon and asks for .... etc.Link to the relay game ↓ …See More
"Thanks John !..the crispness surprised me somewhat as i had used a 13mm close-up/macro extension tube attached to a 50mm Prime, the shot didn't need any sharpening in PS either. Oh, and no not yet, though i keep trying.. lol !!.."
