Permalink Reply by Paul Brooks on January 27, 2012 at 3:38pm I like the color and detail in the clouds, but I don't like the Gazebo as a "shadow" or outline. I would try for a very similar shot and add fill flash to the exposure to draw some detail and color from the gazebo and add a little bit more "content" to the overall capture.
Permalink Reply by Paul Brooks on January 27, 2012 at 4:44pm You're best bet is in the group Photo Criticism, but I see that you have already joined them. I know that there are more than a few people on here that are much more experienced and knowledgeable than I that are very open to responding to requests for criticism, and they usually comment often on posts that apear on the main page. Also, keep an eye for people that are active on a daily basis to forums and blog posts. I lastly would suggest joining the daily chatter group, as they will, if asked, provide honest and open critique, as well as offer a daily theme of things to be captured, offered up, and commented on. It is by far the most active group on this site, and there are many genuinely great people in it.
Hope this helps.
Paul.

Permalink Reply by Jared Weaver on January 29, 2012 at 2:01am Getting feedback by posting photos in your page is difficult since they are downloaded into a massive pool that is viewed by the community. With the number of daily downloads, you are lucky to get even one view, especially if someone dumped their limit after you downloaded. I actually started a thread about that. If you post on this thread- http://www.picturesocial.com/forum/topics/if-you-added-photos-tell-... you will have more luck attracting members to your page. If you are looking for constructive criticism you can join this group- http://www.picturesocial.com/group/photocriticism
And as always, put your best images on your page and you will quickly develop a network of friends who are eager to see your work every time you post.
Permalink Reply by Anatoliy on January 29, 2012 at 3:15am Would have looked better if it was shot in HDR, also dont like the square picture, and that the gazebo is in the middle. Would have looked a lot better if the gazebo was on the left and the you came closer with a wider angle lens (or 3 vertical photos and stitched them together).
I like the photo but think the left side should be cut out; to me the tree on the left is distracting from the beauty of what you took.
Permalink Reply by Raghuram S on January 30, 2012 at 4:46am Hi Roger - while the silhouette is good, the foreground details are lost and there are some interesting stuff which could have caught the light and made the photo more interesting.
