The Photography Network - PictureSocial

I currently live in the Inland Empire in Southern California and am looking for a good travel workshop preferrably in the Western United States.  Anyone have any recommendations?  As far as money, I will admit I am very cheap.  The difficulty is that I travel a lot, on my own by myself, and usually can do most of my weeklong trips for less than $500 dollars - including gas hotel and food (mother raised me to be thrifty).  While I realize that with a workshop I would have a trained professional working along with me, I'd rather spend $2000 on a good lens than get another photographer rich.  However I want to do a workshop for the experience and because traveling alone is well....lonely.

Pricing aside....If you have attended a workshop, can you relate to me the company name/ location, your experience, and if you were satisfied with it?  Did you learn something or got easy access to a place you normally wouldnt have been able to for yourself? If it was a terrible time waster, tell me why.  I want details :) Thanks guys!

I am conducting a workshop in the states in July and August. Please have a look at my sites. This might interest you. I don't teach photo technicalities alone. You can find them in book and on the net. See the recent photos taken by my workshop participant Z you might like them.

Hi Lisa,

My name is Robert Davis and I lead workshops in the Pacific Northwest, I'm based in The Dalles, Oregon. I currently have a few workshops posted on my web site, www.ghosttownsafari.com, but I also do private workshops for groups. My rates are cheap, the education is high, & the fun is off the chart. I can put together just about anything you can imagine for a workshop. Lets chat about your wants and needs.

Oh and yes, I so agree about the glass - buy the best you can afford, always.

About me? I'm a crusty old guy who loves photography. Been plying this craft for over five decades and drag my wife everywhere I go then wait for her to get her shots in - ironic huh? I teach at the local college here and have a studio. So lets chat and put something together for you.
