This is an experience of a lifetime. It's not something someone would seek out... the consequences are much to dangerous. But looking back, it's the adventure of a lifetime. In writing the Web (true) story, there's a cool twist at the end. I'd love to hear some feedback.
Mine isn't as hair raising as yours but it was bad. I slipped on some moss at sunrise one time in the Vermilion Cliffs Wilderness in Arizona and broke my leg and completely detached a ligament in my foot. I was hiking solo and had to walk out about 3 1/2 miles on a destroyed ankle with a pack of about 50 pounds. The things we do for art! I am completely impressed by the Optimists mission to bring medical care to the Tarahumara Indians of Mexico though. I believe that is the native group in the area where you were.
Sounds hair raising to me. I tried to read the rest and got lost in cyber space and ended up here replying to your comment. Hopefully I'll learn how to navigate this site and hear the rest.
