My advice go for Nikon, COOLPIX P60, really nice camera with 5x optical zoom and iso of 2000 also has manual setting - - $230. I noticed that you are using a Nikon COOLPIX L14 ?, so a P60 would be the ideal step up. Best of all, collect money for a DSLR.
thanks a lot..
you've been so kind to reply to my discussion.
I'll think about it, but I'm really planning to buy a Nikon camera.

Hope we could be good friends!
What is it about your Nikon that you're not happy with? Is it image quality or ease of use (or lack thereof)? What's your budget for buying a new camera? Are you looking to get a simple point-and-shoot or a camera with manual overrides so you can be more in control?

I'll be happy to make some recommendations based on your needs.
well sir,
I'm looking for a quality camera with higher resolution (or whatever you may call it, hehehe)
I do wish i could understand more about manual overrides, but i think that sounds good.
my nikon camera right now is Coolpix L14, it doesnt really met my needs, because it captures slowly and sometimes i cant get clearer pictures.
You see, Im still in college, i still have to save money for it. heheehe

If you can suggest anything it would really help.
Thanks A Lot Sir.
Lots of good simple cameras these days that don't cost too much. Nikon Coolpix cameras tend to have longer lag times so I'd suggest either Panasonic or Canon.

The Canon A470 is a super-cheap camera (around $90) that will deliver 7MP images, which is better resolution than what you have. But for a bit more ($125) I'd consider the Olympus Stylus 760, which has help guides and lots of scene modes so you can learn as you use it.

Here's a story about budget-priced digital cameras but based on what you told me I'd say the Canon or Olympus might be good for you.

Cheers!
Hi, I'm new to the photography but i love to click pictures. I like to click modeling photos and also natural scenery can you please suggest me a good camera can be used for both purpose. My budget is approx 8000/- thousands.Any good quality camera within my budget and it'll be better if It has video capture facility too.
Well, a nice camera would be a nikon D90. Really nice dslr camera, also can capture video for $1k without lens. It depends if your going for a compact or DSLR.

P60 has a manual override with 8mp.
Greetings from Riyadh!
First to consider is really your budget. As i have read, "you can take professional shot with an ordinary camera". I would interprete this that its the skill of the photographer that matters most.

In the meantime, try to understand well the full use and limitation of the camera you have. Nikon being a long-time manufacturer of photo equipment and considering the competition, will not make and sell that cameral model you've got if it's not worth the price or a crap. Am sure that it has a good feature for to produce excellent shots as in other point-and-shoot models. Yeah it is rather slow compared to DSLR type - Nikon or Canon or their equivalents. I'm partial to Nikon but don't mind to use non-Nikon brands. Cheers!

T2i is pretty darn nice. Get some dlsr camera gear at http://www.habbycam.com too!

Did you get a new camera?  What did you decide on?

Honestly, it doesn't matter if you go Canon or Nikon, as both have "sister" models that are a lot alike in quality.  The best and in my opinion, only way to properly decide which you like is to find both models that have the features you are looking for, then go to the stores and handle those two cameras (one Nikon and the other Canon)... which feels better in your hands.  Regardless of what each photographer says about which camera is the best, it's the best to them because of the features that it has fits their needs and the comfort fits their hands.  Find the one right for you.
