I have a Nikon D300s, never tried the D7000. D300s is an awesome camera! Got everything I need to take really great shots! I don't really take videos on DSLR (I have a Canon 5D Mark II, which is superb for videos, but still I never used it), but it's quite good I think :-) As a D300s user, I say it's a highly recommended camera!

At this point if I was in the market I would probably go for the D7000, but having said that I haven't done as much research on the D300. It seems as though they are very close in many aspects, so for me it comes down to video, and ISO. I picked up the D90 in part for the video side of it. There is a part of me that wishes that I had waited for the D7000. Manly for the auto focus, longer record time, and better ISO.

Here is an article I came across the points out the differences between the D7000, and the D300. I hope this helps.

Thanx for your input Tray .  I'm  Gonna go for the  7000  . ISO / video   what im looking for . Take care!  Very helpful
If the D300s is in good condition go for that as it is classed as semi pro but the D7000 will have better noise control and more megapixels. Personally I would go for the D300s

The D300s is way more well-built. Like the D300s the D7000 is also magnesium alloy, but not the entire body.

And oh, you might wanna see this...

Great way to break it down Ryan. Thank you for this information

Just go with the D7000. I'm using D300s and I like it, well the ISO range ain't that great but still awesome camera. But If I was to choose between the two then I would go for D7000 all because of the specs. ISO 25,600 , 16MP, new image processor,

Full HD + exposure adjustment.

I doubt there will be a replacement for the D300s any time soon. I'm more interested in a replacement for the D700.

Great points . lots of good info  . thank you : )
Thank you all very much. very helpful !!  Very much appreciated  .
I myself upgraded from a D70 to D300 about 2 years ago, I've been nothing but happy with the 300.
