On the European flights yes it is, not sure about the transatlantic but I don't see why not, choose a sit near the window :) not sure about the flash, never tried but I don't think you will need it anyway.

During landing and taking off you have to sit back, tighten your seatbelt and relax.

even i feel the same...y not?

last tym a co passenger prevented me.....ofcrse in flash off mode

The worst thing they can do is to tell you to put the camera away.

Technically not allowed on take-off or landing.  Modern digital cameras are electronic devices, and electronic devices are supposed to be turned off and stowed during take-off and landing.

Flash might get you in trouble with other passengers annoyed by the light.  I doubt anyone would complain if you were taking a few pictures of your group or photographing out the window.  Using a flash while shooting out the window would be counter productive.

i understand the gravity wen d plane tak off or land....but people hav problem wen i point my lens outside.....(flash off)

if nebody kno bout ne ACT or rule...lemme kno...

thanx

even short hops allow it. I took nearly 100 shots on 4 plans while in the air less than 2 hours. I was obnoxious. My fellow passengers wanted to string me up I'm sure but I was not asked to stop. Even got a good one of the flight attendant :)

Providing your not pointing it at other passengers! LOL. :)
