Hi, My name is Girl with a Camera (emily). I'm new here but have loved it so far...still getting use to the sight. Anyway, I am a MAC user and have all their updated editing equipment and I love it. However my husband purchased me Photoshop Elements and I am having a really difficult time figuring it out. For example, I love the Black & White photos with color but don't know how to do them. Can you do those on Elements? I could really use some help. The tutorials and books I purchased have been little help. I am having a hard time figuring out the layering thing. Also, does anyone out there think Element edits a whole lot better than just using MAC. I am getting more and more families ask me to take pics of their children and I'd really like to give them the best quality pictures possible. Thanks to anyone who can help me.
Welcome to Picture Social. I've used PSE 5 for about 3 years. It has everything I need in a photo editing package. As Alan said, there are many articles on the internet describing the various functions of Photoshop Elements. It's a very popular software package. One book that has helped me a lot is Rick Sammon's Digital Imaging Workshop. $21.86 at Amazon.com: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-...
It's addressed to the beginning Elements user and gives a good explanation of each of the common tools. A learning CD
is also included.
You might also check out popphoto.com. They have articles every month on some feature of Photoshop Elements.
Good luck!
