I AM LOOKING FOR A REASONABLE PHOTOGRAPHY PORTFOLIO WEBSITE. ONE THAT LOOKS SIMPLE, NICE, EASY TO USE & POSSIBLY ABLE TO SELL PHOTOS ON IT. I AM USING PBASE BUT IT'S NOT EXACTLY WHAT I WANT.
IF ANYONE HAS ANY SUGGESTIONS, RECOMMENDATIONS...PLEASE SHARE... ;)

Thanks Alan, I so agree with you about pbase not being user friendly. I can't figure anything out on there & used them for 2+ years. Thats why I am looking for a change.
I renewed for another year but looking to move my photos to another place. I use Mpix so I will look into Zenfolio, & see how user friendly they are..;)
Thanks again, appreciate it~
Marie
errhm. yeah.
livebooks ain't as 'reasonable' as i'm needing (with a base price of $800). pity, it's gorgeous.
Well, thanks, I'lll look into the other 2. A friend uses Smugmug, Livebooks is out of the question...;)
I have my website with www.betterphoto.com - www.carltonwardphoto.com and also have my Image sales on this site directed to my Zenfolio site http://carltonward.zenfolio.com/

I just renewed my Better Photo website for $349 for 2 years (about $175 per year) and my Premium Zenfolio site is $100 a year. Both have unlimited storage space and anyone who visits my website that wants to buy a print can do so easily by clicking on my Zenfolio link and select/add the prints to their order and Zenfolio handles the rest. I dont have to do anything but watch the profits from my sales deposited to the bank account I have set up for it.
I have a Canon PixmaPro 9000 that worked for a few months and died, but with the cost of paper, ink, packaging & shipping - I decided to not fix the printer and go the Zenfolio route.
Cheers, Carlton
HI there, try with www.photoshelter.com .Good luck Marie.
thanks~
You can have your own site on photobiz.com. I use it myself. Relatively inexpensive, very easy to use and update. Check out my site as an example. www.noblephoto.net
Thank you, I'll check it out.
I haven't been checking out this discussion & didn't realize everyone was still responding.
Thanks!
I use www.smugmug.com for my galleries. I think they are right when they claim that "your photos look better here". They charge $60/yr for advanced and $150/yr for pro accounts (you can easily find 50% off discount coupons for their membership fees). you can have unlimited space for photos and videos and also can have your own domain name. you can check my galleries at www.rhitusworld.com (hosted by smugmug)
I use Bludomain.com for design.. and love them. They make sites specifically for photographers and videotogs. They aren't awesome if you want totally customized sites.. but if you like one of their designs and its features... they rock. I get lots of compliments on my site.. polished, fast, professional, etc...

I use hostmonster.com for hosting.. they are inexpensive, and incredibly reliable. Also.. when I have had questions.. I have called hostmonster (all hours of the day and night).. and always got an American on the phone who was more than happy to answer all of my questions.
Also... bludomain often runs sales... I have seen them put their $400 sites on sale for $100 several times. Also.. if you pay $400 for a site... you are a VIP.. and get more sites for $200 from then on. It definitely makes them reasonable in today's market.
