PS CS5 creating an old photo effect

Can anyone help me out with this one? How do I blend these two images (for example) to make a torn photo effect.. .I tried it but it looks terrible!

AND/OR

does anyone know where I can find a good action that will do it quickly and easy for me? Doesn't need to be free actions. I will pay for good ones.

sorry, the other image didn't show up, but how would you blend this with an image to make the old torn photo look?

I used a plug-in to change the color of this photo first, then laid it over the top of yours, changed blending mode to "screen" and opacity to 60% Flattened layers.. uploaded.

I love this picture...am totally new at this and I have only had my new camera for about a week. A cannon T3. What do you mean by "plug in" I am new to these terms :) Thank you

A "plug-in" is a program that is added to photoshop, usually to make complex things easier.. or just make easy things automatic so you can save time to shoot. Some are free.. some cost as much as Photoshop itself.

For this, I knew I wanted a aged look. I changed the color to brown using a plug-in called "virtualphotographer". It is a free plug-in.. and worth every penny. Great for quick color/contrast changes. If you don't have photoshop, you can download a free program called "virtualstudio" that will allow you use virtualphotographer's filters.
