Putting my picture and name on top of My Page

Hi guys, I saw some really nice looking pages on this website. I was wondering how I could customise my page in a manner that I could have my photo on the masthead and give the page a name. Some people have already done this but it seems to be beyond my limited technical capabilities :) Help much appreciated
