I feel like I'm the only one in the world using one. Perhaps I should trade it and go Canon or Nikon. But I love the way the Sony Alpha slr takes photos. I feel left out. Anyone out there using one also???

I'm glad to hear from a professional.
And I'm using mine because I feel so comfortable around it. It's a camera that I feel it's ME.
Thanks much for a response.

I have the Sony alpha 100 and 200. I love both and want to go to the 700 and 900. It does not matter what people think of your camera. I get the snobbery all the time. But when people see the work I do with them, they are surprised! It is a great tool and it is only as good as the photographer. Comfort is the number one thing in using your camera.
Just join this forum and saw this thread... so guess i will like to contribute.

I have been using Minolta so Sony is a natural progression since I love those Minolta glass.

Started with A-700 and now Using A-900 while keeping the A-700 as backup.

Anyway, I take children photography mainly and A-900 is the main camera I use and I love it.

Do remember, at the end of the day, Equipment is just Equipment. Photography is not about equipment. Although, it make lives easier.

My website is www.tomato.sg and all images are taken with Sony stuff... Hope it helps.
I have a sony a300k. I really like it. I bought it just a couple months ago. I had alot of people telling me to go canon or nikon.
Sony Alpha a350 is what i use and i find it great
Hi just to let you know I have been enjoying my Sony so much. I know that one day in the distant future I will upgrade but until then I will enjoy every moment with my constant companion. It gives me so much enjoyment.
At the moment I can't afford the upgrade but when i do i'll move onto a Sony 900 or 850. I like using sony equipment.
Naley,

I would like to echo the thoughts of those who encourage you to forget about the name on the camera. The best camera is the one you have in your hands when you are ready to take a picture! I shoot Olympus myself, another brand that gets lost easily in a forest of Canon and Nikon shooters.

I will say that I read your post here after looking through my just received copy of Rangefinder Magazine. I was struck by an article about a photographer by the name of Brian Smith. Looking at the pictures I thought "hey.. good stuff" and then "hmmm, what equipment?" Well, the last page reveled that Brian shoots with two SONY ALPHA 900's. Your not alone.
I have a Sony A550. Love it. I have had it for a few months now but haven't really had the chance to go out and shoot alot. I'm hoping that changes here really soon. Don't change cameras for that reason. I took a class that they hold in Downtown Indianapolis and out of 10 people myself and only one other person used a Sony. They didn't even have our camera in the instructors book we used for the class. :)

I have both Sony A350 and A850 and I love them both.  Once you start using pro-grade equipment it can get expensive though.  I know how you feel because its not as commonly used as Cannon or Nikon.  However, being as though I have some experience using a Nikon, I don't regret the desicion.  I read a book by a photographer by the name of Matthew Jordan Smith  (google him) who famously uses a Sony Alpha and it literally changed my entire out look on what the Sony Alpha is capable of and how great of a camera it is to own.

Shoot what you enjoy shooting, and what provides the features and final product that you like.  I have a Nikon dslr and I enjoy it very much, but I would never bash anyone else for the equipment they have.  A good friend of mine shoots a Pentax dslr.  It might be considered a "cheaper" brand, but the camera is provides outstanding results.  Yes it's auto focus is slightly noisy, and its software doesn't look as flashy as some, but he loves it, and I think its an awesome piece of equipment;  especially since it can produce equal quality, and at higher ISO's, better quality than my camera at a much lower price.  It is a very competitive market out there now, and I feel that there isn't a vast difference between any camera in the same segment.  Enjoy your investment...  it's not about the equipment, it's about the final result.  If your Sony produces a product that you love then that's all that matters.  If you need something else to achieve what you like, find it.
