I have the Sigma 10-20 that I use on a Canon 30D. I like it. The photos at http://digital-photography-school.com/17-stunning-wide-angle-images have been post processed a lot.

This has had some processing too, but it was taken with the Sigma, of Royal Ontario Museum, from across Bloor Street.

I got the Promaster 17-50 F2.8 its tack sharp! and it costs under 400 dollars, its awesome for the money!
ow! how r u Mrs. Clickers nice to hear u back thanks for the reply what are the difference and which is better the 10-20 or the 17-50 F2.8 as per Mr. Enriquez I’m actually have no idea with this F 2.8 if I need to buy higher or lower denomination,..... ",) sorry guys I am not that confident with those numbers but as far as I know F means Aperture right? and if you put more aperture the more you increase the more you can get blurry back ground.... I want to show u some photos but I’m confuse it it is wide angle lens or fish eye.............

thanks guys

JR
Wide is relative. Fish-eyes distort but give a circular appearance, either complete or partial.

I have the Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6 EX DC HSM , but they also make the more expensive EX 10-20MM F3.5 HSM, and then there is the CANON EF-S 10-22MM 3.5-4.5 USM. All three are designed for C size sensors. They are equivalent to 16mm, at the wide end, on a full frame model like the 5D, 1D, 1Ds, at least in terms of angle of view.

Your profile says "CANON EOS 450D with 18-200 mm lense", so the obvious lenses to add to your collection would be something wide like 10-20, you would not see any real difference between 17 mm and the 18 mm your current lens can do. Since you can already get down to 18 mm, you are mostly interested in the wide end since everything over 18 is already covered. I think it will probably come down to cost/weight/feel since the optical quality of all three is excellent.

Take your camera and visit a store, try out the lenses and see which one feels better to you. Compare the prices and you will probably be able to decide which is right for you.
hello Mr. Clicker, that was wonderful suggestion yha i have 18-200 mm so that’s why i really want to but wide lens. i just have question what are this stands for (EX DC HSM) ?
HSM=Hyper Sonic Motor AF drive

DC lenses: Theses are special lenses that are designated for interchangeable lens type SLR digital cameras because the lens image circle is designated to correspond to the size of the image sensors of most interchangeable lens type digital SLR cameras.
The specialized design gives these lenses the ideal properties for digital cameras.
• An image sensor element larger than than those corresponding to APS-C cannot be used in digital cameras or 35mm film cameras. If such an element is used vignetting will occur for digital cameras.

EX (EX Lens)
The exterior of this lens is EX-finished to denote the superior build and optical quality, and to enhance its appearance.

For Sigma, a number of their acronyms are explained here: http://www.sigmaphoto.com/popup.asp

Looks like a wide angle lens held fairly low.
thank you Mr. Enriquez for replying my question.....
Sigma 14mm EX DG f/2.8
I was always taught early on that the glass was the most important element in photography. I used to dream of owning a schneider or leica lens. My system has served me well since I first picked up my first camera. The bodies have changed, but the lenses have remained part of my arsenal.
There used to be a time when no decent photographer would be seen carrying certain lenses. In this respect Sigma has come a long way. My favorite lens is the 12-24 by Sigma and it is excellent for the price. My next purchase will be the 10-20 by Sigma.
