Oh my lord, I agree.I love his stuff. I wouldnt say he is my favourite, I find it hard to choose hehe. But, isnt he he so lucky to live somewhere where he has access to fantastic scenery and natrual props, and then turns it into his own by his skills. I agree the concepts are amazing. I love the originality and colour. I want to buy his image book that has been for sale recently.
To be honest, I don't know any famous photographer by name. And I figured out, over about the last year, that there are so many people who take amazing photographs. I would have a hell of a hard time to find out, who my favorite is. There are just way too many ... and I'm not only talking about professionals. Even amateurs (I'm still for a long time one of them) have amazing photographs !!!
Alone here are quite a lot who I really admire for the photos they take.
I guess a lot depends on the surrounding and the possibilities you have. Not everybody has a proper camera or good enough equipment for studio. There you can already see a huge difference in quality and look of the photo. What makes people more likely pay more attention to the professionals.
Personally I stand somewhere between art and journalism so I'll give you my favourites for both types of photography:
Journalistic:
James Nachtwey
Robert Capa
Steve McCurry
Cristina García Rodero
Ernst Hemingway
Sebastiao Salgado
Leni Riefenstahl (just as a photographer, nothing to do with her political ideals)
Artistic:
Chema Madoz
Man Ray
Pablo Picasso
Tony Oursler
Martha Rosler
I like these for the career, for the characters and philosophy.
Sebastião Salgado, Henri Cartier Bresson, Robert Capa, R. Doisneau, Bill Brandt
Eddie Adams and Don Mc Cullin.
Actually i could expend the list almost daily, Here on Picturesocial there's some very creative and inspiring photographers, and close friends inspires me too.
Oh and now that i read the subject again, i just think the people i meet influence me.
You are the sum of your experiences that is.
