Thanks for the guide. After posting the discussion i was in a confusion what lens can i go. I feel it is better to fo for 18mm-200mm. When i purchased the kid i got a 70mm-300mm zoom lens manual focus.

And one more thing, can i go for VR lens or auto focus lens without VR option. I feel while using tripod , is there a shake while taking picutes.

Anyhow i will browse at the store this week and go for it.

I happen to got couple of days ago exactly the same kit as you have. For the moment I am loking for a 55-200 VR to complete the kit, or maybe even further to a 70-300 VR - but this one is more expensive...

The 18-200 VR is a very good all round lense, although it has rather high barrel distosion at the wide end.
If you opt for this one, I would suggest for low light and excellent optical performance to add a 50/1.8 D wich is very cheap, will not AF on the D60 but is very good optical quality. If you have the money, 50/1.4 will be better or you can shop around for the new AF-S 50/1.4 which will focus on D60...

And btw, when you use a tripod, turn the VR OFF !!! With this in mind, it's better with VR than without, especially in low light...

Another question: how is manual focus on the 70-300 ?!?

I have AF-S DX 12-24mm f/4G. It's a great lens if you're looking for wide angle lens. The result is amazing and it's great for landscape! Probably one of the best out of all my lens collections and I'm pretty happy with it.

Not too sure about Nikon Lenses, your camera has a 1.5X magnification so the true size will be 1.5x12 = 18mm. For landscapes try and get the widest lense you can find.

if u want independent wide angles, then without moving to fisheyes, 24 and 35mm will be great and if want zoom 12-24 is good.

I feel the discussion was really informative in lenses from various photographers.

Thanks for all the suggestions. Finally i have got a 18-200mm lens for my D60 kit.

I started with a wide angle lens and finally ended up with a all round lens as advised by "Mattew and Gabriel"

I will shortly upload a pic taken with my new lens for the criticism

I am very curious also on how you feel it on the D60 and how it works at both ends ...

i'd go for the tokina 12-24mm. it's a very easy, sharp good lens. and only about $500 new.

Does it auto focus with the D60?
