OK. My first post here although I have been following. I am getting the impression that a lot of people do about 80% of their work in LT and then go to Photoshop for some final work and sometimes don't go to Photoshop at all. Opinions?

Click on the arrows in the top right and left parts of the histogram and you will see which parts of the picture are under (too dark) or blown out (too light). If you click and hold the right edge of the histogram and drag to the left you will see the amount of highlight decrease (this is the same as sliding the recovery slider to the right). The same applies to clicking, holding and dragging the left side of the histogram to the right to reduce the black/dark pixels.
If you want to set colour balance then click on the dropper tool and select an area of your image that is closest to middle grey, it will change the balance of your picture and should enable you to adjust for best skin tones. Make sure your monitor is calibrated too!

do u mean colour balance the image or actually set the clipping of the highlights

Hello,

I just added another link to some free Presets. As I stated below.. I have a Lightroom group on Linkedin.com and Gavin placed the link there, so I thought I would add it here. The Lightroom group on Linkedin now has over 331 users and as stated before, some are actual Adobe employees.
