hought I would give some reference material in case you would want to research birds. If from other parts of the world, check your local libraries or schools.

National Geographic Field Guide to the birds of North America, fifth edition. Fantastic! The art work is the best I have ever seen. ISBN 0-7922-5314-0

A guide to Field Identification of Birds of North America. A good field guide with check off blocks in the back for your finds. ISBN 0-307-33656-5

Roger Tory Peterson Field Guide to the Birds. Good field guide. I have the 40th printing which was in 1947 so I'm sure it is still for dale but very updated from my copy.

CD North American Birds by Roger Tory Peterson Multimedia Guides....Includes color plates, bird calls, locations etc. Bought eight or nine years ago so I'm not sure of the availability today.

Readers Digest,: Birds Their Life, Their Ways, Their World ISBN 0-89577-065-2 This was published in many parts of the world so it may be available to all.

For those who do not have any books, post the picture and where you shot it to this group and I will see if I can come up with the name. (I do have all the time and am bored to tears). ( : - D

I've never seen this bird in my yard before yesterday. The reference material says they like to hide, but he stayed still long enough for me to get a photo. I think it is the bird I have claimed it to be, as it looks just like the ref book photo...if anyone knows better, please let me know. Thanks.

More often heard than seen, the gray catbird is a shy thicket-dwelling bird that is fairly common in suburban areas.
