I am looking for a unit that will record GPS metadata and add it to the images when I download to the LR3.  I have looked at some but they seem to work only on JPEG and not RAW or they need to be attached to the hotshoe, which I often use for my flash or my remote.  I have a 5D MarkII

Does anyone know how to turn off the shutter sound on the Canon 500D? Its quite annoying when trying to photograph wildlife

THanks

Any one using EF 24-105mm f4L IS USM Lens on a 50D? If so what are your views on it as it going to be a replacement for the 17 - 85mm IS.

That was my issue too with it Sam until I learned about Phottix. Am not sure though if I would be transgressing any protocols on this group by introducing Plato of Phottix ( a non-Canon product). Anyway, to help you out, just google on it. You would be abe to see a lot of info on it. I hope Canon comes out with a radio frequency clicker that is comparabaly affordable to its competitors. Let me know the results Sam.

Thanks, Hubert. I did buy the wireless one for $30 local. But am not happy with it at all. Do you have a web site for the Phottix Plato? sounds like a better option. That other one won't work unless you are right on top of the photo cell and or in front of the shot. That is not helpful if I am trying to photograph a bird feeder at a distance from behind.

Hi for those interested in a remote shutter clicker, canon has a wireles infrared clicker. Another option which I think is cheaper is wireless Phottix' Plato which uses radio frequency. I am more contended with Phottix because you do not have to point the clicker directly to your camera. You can press the clicker even if its in your pocket. Just want to share this piece of info.

Uneeb Ullah Malik replied to Janna Slaback's discussion 'CANON 24-70mm f/2.8 vs TAMRON SP AF 17-50mm' in the group Canon User Group
Janna, For the wedding photography in particular, I am comfortable with 10mm-22mm lens because of groups and confined spaces and it also costs around $800.  For your question in particular, I used TAMRON and SIGMA, found SIGMA slightly better.…
