Building your Website

Hello

I see many of you have a website, i am thinking of creating one as well, but i dont know which web-page provider to use that is reasonable in monthly fees and offers a lot and is reliable. And is also easy to use.

I have been on the Internet looking through so many and now i am very confused.

Can anybody help me?

Start by figuring out why you want a web site, what you want it to do for you and what your budget is. If you understand how to write HTML or use the wizards provided by an ISP you can do a lot of it for your self.

Once you know exactly what you need, you can match the offerings to locate the most suitable ISP.

I use Wordpress and they're terrific. If all you want is a blog its a great way to start, The blog is free and then are additional fees if you want your own url. You can build from there. Here's my site www.edithlevyphotography.com

I use Blogger for my blog, and use Smugmug to host my photos. Smugmug has 3 different plans and a million different features. You can start with the basic plan while you build your site and then upgrade at any time. They allow unlimited upload on all plans, which is a great way to back up your photos as well. Their support is absolutely awesome - they reply to your questions sometimes in less than an hour - it's like having a support hotline. I tried another provider called Photoshelter before I moved over to Smugmug. I couldn't be happier with the switch. The reason i was asking, i have so many pictures by now, and i have actualy sold some, and in the process to sell a few more.

I was carrying my stick aroung but dont like to give it out so a customer can take his time. Then i was thinking of printing them all for a portfolio, which will cost quite a bit, but still will carry them around. So then my friend told me to make a website which is accessible for everybody.
