i m thinking of buying a beginning level dslr n i m confused which 1 to buy. the 450D is awesome, but the 1000D isnt that bad either. can anyone help me decide?
I bought a used XSi and have been very happy with it. I tried a 40D, but did not like the digital display on top. I like the viewfinder display on the XSi much better. The XTi is also a very good camera.
Hi,
I have owned a 450D for the past 13 months, and...I love it!!! Iv'e a friend who owns a 1000D and he is more than happy with it.
They are both good cameras, therefore my advice would be to purchase what you can best afford. I hope this has been of help, and enjoy whichever model you get!!!
There seem to be quite a few advantages of the 450D over the 1000D, Tanvir, but most of the advantages are incremental enough that, if you're a beginner, and if you really aren't absolutely certain you'll need any two or three of them, you could save yourself a little money, get the 1000D and learn what they're all about before considering investing in a more expensive piece of equipment. Knowing what I know now about what cameras have to offer, I would spring for the 450D -- mostly because of the RAW burst advantage, larger LCD screen size, higher resolution, greater AF point sensitivity and spot metering (the 450D was the first Rebel to have this feature, a huge bonus if you desire nail-on sharpness on a shallow depth of field shot and/or in portraiture work, in which you want to focus on the eyes). For me, I find those to be significant factors.
Neither. I started shooting in 1997 with film. My first digital was in 2000 a Fujifilm s1 pro, next was the 20D then D2x, then 5D, now two 5D Mk ll's. The 30D is an amazing camera and a lot better the 450D and 1000D. If your just starting out this set up is perfect! Spend the same amount or a little more for a closer to pro set up. It will feel better in your hands and will take better shots.
I worked for a New York Times Photographer (Ryan Pyle) in China and he used that camera system (Canon 30D Canon 50mm1.4) for a long time, shooting for Time mag., Newsweek, etc! He recently purchased a Canon 5D Mk ll.
We need to stop worrying about mega pixels guys and gals.
Listed below are examples of great used 30D's and 50mm 1.4
