Thanks Mike. I also got the 75 - 300 mm telephoto lens. In addition I got the fisheye & super macro items that I can screw on to the 18 - 55 mm lens & A 2x converter. There some very specific things I want to shoot. Family & vacations are not what I plan on shooting.
Hi all. I just got myself a Canon T3 as a birthday gift for myself. I would have got the T3i but my budget would not allow it. So far I am satisfied with it. Any comments and/or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Oh, not to be a bugger or anything, but I was really looking for a Nikon DSLR but for what I wanted the cost for that was like the national debt. I am happy with my choice so far.
i just purchased the canon rebel t5i. anyone else have this camera?
hi, bought a new canon pixma pro-1 printer, like to find info. for this printer
Yes i didnt real like is in AF- Auto focus i will try in MF- manual focus and see is work my IOS is set to 200
thanks guys I will try what you said is dark here now and cloudy i will try tomorrow
It sounds to me like you have the lens set to MF (manual focus) and the camera set to Tv or Av, possibly with ISO fixed too low - so it's the camera saying 'sorry, shutter speed/aperture/iso combination doesn't work', not the lens. Set the iso to auto and shutter speed to, say, 1000th/sec and let the camera find the aperture that matches. If you are convinced camera settings are OK, the lens may be saying 'sorry, can't autofocus', in which case switch to MF on the lens and manually set it to infinity, then see if you can get a shot. Hope this helps - once you fathom the problem you can make adjustments to get the sort of result you want.
If you have your lens on autofocus and the camera can't find a focus point, the shutter won't release. Try manual focus instead
I have a canon 1000d and trying to take a bird pic with a 75-300 lens and i need the setting for it please I put in M setting but will not lets me take it :(
can any one help me please and thanks
I have 550D and would like to be friendly with all those who have 550 D
I shot an event on Friday night. I went expecting to shoot a bunch of stills. When I arrived, they thought I should shoot a video of a Chinese Fan Dance they were performing. Having a 5D Mk III, I just threw a switch and did the movie for them.
It has dual card slots, one CF and one SDHC. That means I have some flexibility.
In camera HDR isn't all that exciting but since it keeps the shots it builds from, and they can be raw, it is convenient to get the files and they can be combined again later.
I was playing with a T3i the other day, I can see there are times a touch screen would be useful.
A tilt and swivel monitor would be wonderful. My CoolPIX cameras had that. It let me shoot a deer while staying out of sight. It is also helpful for shooting over a crowd or shooting landscapes, cars and so on from really low positions. I shot the atrium of a cruise ship with a really wide lens, with the camera on the deck, aimed up. It took several tries to get it just so. If the monitor tilted, I could have used live view and nailed it on the first pass. That is a great feature! Your cloths stay cleaner if you don't have to lie on the ground.
Feature modes? I use M, Av and P. If movie is on the mode dial, I sometimes use it too. On the 5D, movie is on the Live View button. I don't bother with the rest of the modes. Two of my bodies only have M, another has only M, Av, Tv, and P. The others have a collection of settings I don't use. I'm sure someone else uses them on their camera. Having them there doesn't seem to hurt me and if they sell a few more cameras because they are there, then my cost might be a little lower.
1/8000th is great for bees and humming birds! Getting enough light can be tough though.
So far the 5D Mk III has the best video Canon has put into a dSLR and it certainly doesn't seem to have hurt any of the still camera features.
