Places

Wow, I forgot all about this :) I have been so busy with overtime and stuff.
So, What places have you found here in TX to take some shots of?

I have been to Stonehenge near Hunt, Tx and a few other spots. What I am looking for are areas with waterfalls. I had taken some shots at Colorado Bend park and some at Chalk ridge falls near Belton lake, but I am always looking for more.

I went camping and backpacking in Palo Duro Canyon in west Texas last year and it was absolutely beautiful. It is in Palo Duro State Park about 30 - 45 minutes south east of Amarillo. I would highly recommend going not just for the photos but to have an enjoyable outdoor adventure.; ▶ Reply to This

I live about 10 minutes from Palo Duro Canyon and I am ashamed to say I don't go there enough and take photos. I'll do that soon and share some with the group.

I have found some really cool places around Dallas and Ft. Worth that are photo worthy but I've been there for work the last few times and never had time to get some photos. Near Alliance Airport there are some really cool farms and scenic views to capture.

Maybe I can convince Chris to go with me to the Canyon soon and take some pictures.; ▶ Reply to This

Other than that, I have been to San Antonio and it has quite a few photo ops. Haven't really been anywhere else in Texas except the Buffett concert in Frisco this year (North of Dallas).; ▶ Reply to This

There are some really pretty slow moving falls on Lake Travis as well, but if I recall you can only see them by boat (goes over a cliff and into the lake).; ▶ Reply to This

I know it's a little cold for waterfalls right now, but i just joined the group tonight. Just south of Palo Duro, but in the same canyon system is Caprock Canyons state park. On the Northern Trail way back up where the trail heads up onto the caprock, is a large washed out psuedo-cave absolutely covered with ferns. Water percolates through the rock year-round and after rains, it makes a nice flume type waterfall across the front that you can actually get behind. I'll try to get the exact coordinates but you can check it out on any of the map sites.
