Glad I found this group. I use Paint Shop Pro X6 and usually edit by the 'shotgun' method. Just start shooting (playing with different settings) until I get pleasing results. Trying to follow a Photoshop tutorial and correlate that with Paint Shop is next to impossible. Dealing with layers usually leaves me confused so perhaps I can learn something here.

A b&w edit I did today-

Hi Peter, Welcome to the Coral Paintshop users group. There hasn't been a lot of traffic on here to date. But don't let that stop you posting anything that you think is off interest. You might just be the one to get this group moving. As for your picture very intersting post proccesing, I like it....

You might also try searching the internet for some good tutorials on Text Effects. I would suggest Goggling on the term "Text Effects"+"Paint Shop Pro". Most tutorials are easy enough to follow and you can learn a lot about how to manipulate text using Paint Shop.

Hi Chris, and welcome to the group.

To enter text click on the text tool or press T on the keyboard. The colour of your text is controlled by the Materials Pelatte. These two colours are the outside line of your text and the fill of your text. What ever these are on is what your text will be when you create it. To change text that is already created. open the text and Hi-light (select) the text you want to change and then alter these two colours you can also use textures and gradient fills.

You can format your text by using the icons in your text tool bar that will be displayed across the top of the work area when in text mode.

You are not able to do drop shadow effects etc. to text. You can however change the text to a raster layer and then do drop shadow and other effects to this. Make sure you are happy with your text first as you won’t be able to edit your text once this is converted. To do this select your text with the pick tool (Arrow pointer) and then select Effects from the menu bar and then 3D Effects and select whichever effect you want to apply. You will get a message warning you that the layer needs to be changed to a raster layer. Select yes and you can now apply whatever effects you like.

Hope this helps. Let me know if there is any part that I haven't explained clearly enough and I will try and elaborate more for you.
