Welcome to Covered Bridges
Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoy your stay. One of my favorite subjects to shoot is a covered bridge, especially the old historical red covered bridges.
I am always looking for new covered bridges to take pictures of. I live in Illinois and was first introduced to red covered bridges during a weekend trip to Winterset IA, home of the Bridges of Madison Co. I have spent a couple weekends a year shooting out there, lots to see and do. I have since found a treasure trove of covered bridges in Parke Co, IN, about 30 of them there! This year, while taking a trip to Parke Co, I picked up a flyer at a local hotel for Putnam Co, IN, the next county over. To my surprise, Putnam Co is the home of 9 covered bridges!
Soon, I hope to take a trip to Ashtabula Co, OH to shoot their bridges.
With this group, I am hoping to find new locations to shoot as well as share my findings. When posting pictures, please try to include the name of the bridge, nearest city, county, and state. GPS coordinates would be very helpful to others when trying to find these bridges also.

These were taken a couple of weeks ago in Putnam County, Indiana, three difference bridges, I could not find the 4th one, but there are 4 or 5 more in Putnam County, well I thought there were 3 but only one loaded. I will do the others later.

Love Putnam Co!! Havent been out there for a few years... need to get back out there!! only about a 4 or 5 hour drive from where I am at... tis 3 hours to Champaign IL, then an hour to Danville on the Indiana border.. then maybe an hour to get down to Bridgeton....if me memory serves me right!! lol

Nicely done Berk!! I am from Illinois along the Mississippi River, the furthest east I have made it to shoot covered bridges is Putnam Co and Parke Co, IN. Would love to get to Ashtabula Co, OH sometime!! or further east!!
