I was asked to take family photos for a co-worker. She and her family are tall individuals except 2 of the kids.

Which lens would you recommend? I had thought about purchasing the Nikon 16-85mm lens or the Tamron 28-75mm lens. I'm also taking their photos at the beach.

Any suggestions and/or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

The tamron 28 to 75 is a nice lens, with a fixed aperture of f/2.8. The nikon has a wider zoom, but has a variable aperture from 3.5 to 5.6. I have had good luck with the tamron, and can recommend it to you without reservation. (my main lenses are the Sigma 10-24, the Tamron 28-75, and the Tamron 70-200)
Hi Jeff,
Thanks for the recommendation. I have heard great things about the Tamron lens and it's less expensive. I will also check out the Sigma 10-24.

Thanks Again...Happy Easter!
