In the first pic as far as fashion goes, you kind of covered the "fashion" up with the stair case.
The second pis is better but I would work on the posing...I know you are the photographer, but you will have to direct your models during photoshoots.

Hi Stephanie,
I notice that the photos don't appear to be sharp. Always strive to have their eyes tack sharp.
In the second photo the girl is looking too far off camera. The nose should never break the cheek line unless you are doing a full profile. I can see a bit of her right eye. Also in both photos you are dealing with over head light which is leaving shadows under their eyes. A simple inexpensive way to fix this would be to use a reflector to throw some light into their face and brighten up their eyes. I like to see highlights in a persons eyes. It makes them look alive. It will make your photos pop. You can also do this by using fill flash but it takes a bit of practice to be able to nail soft fill flash and not over do it. For now I would invest in a reflector and have someone around who can hold it for you. If you have no money to buy a reflector you can use a piece of white poster board or a piece of cardboard covered in tinfoil. anything that will reflect light will work.
