Hallo Francesca,

like your picture. I hope you don't mind that I downloaded your picture ..... I lowered the brightness and gave it more contrast, sharpened it a little bit and then I tried to reduce the noise, but it is still a little blurry. I also cut it a little bit for the rule of thirds. 

Are you using a tripod for your close ups  ?

Oh no, I don't mind.

I have a tripod but never use it because I'm never quite sure how to use it best ... Do you no how?

I make use of my tripod very often, it reduces the problem of noise in my pictures.  I use it for landscape as well as portrait and especially for my macro photography. Here I can nicely stabilize the camera, bring her in a position where I would not be able to hold the camera without shaking and by switching the camera setting on "self timer" (2 sec.) it is perfect for macro. I also make use of my beanbag if my subject is in floor level and if I just go for a walk I take my mono pod with as the tripod (a Haehnel Ball Head)  has it's weight.
