Fenouil

Fenouil is a French restaurant in the heart of the Pearl, Portland, Oregon. My son Gareth, also a member of Picture/Social, and I ate lunch there today.

Salt and pepper were on the table when we were seated, and bread and butter soon arrived.

I decided to have the Soup d' Jour for starters.

It was delicious, especially the wild mushrooms.
Next came the entree, a unique dish, halibut with watercress salad on top. Both were exceptionally tasty, prepared and presented with utmost care.

Satisfied though we were, we could not pass up dessert and coffee. I had the creme brulee, which was very small and very good.

This was one of the rare times when I ate everything I was served. The entire meal -- food, atmosphere, and service -- was perfect.
