I am a relatively new user of GIMP, but am finding it easy to learn as it is all based on Linux, which is one of the areas I am attending school for.  I also use PSE, but not near as often as GIMP.  Hope to learn more and have fun!

Hi All. I'm really pleased to have discovered this group. As a newbie photographer I have loads of challenges not only learning to use my camera properly, but also learning how to use the software to get the most out of my photos, so looking forward to discovering Gimp tips and techniques here.

QUESTION!!!
So i met this other photographer online, like always, lol, he's from Spain, I LOVE HIS WORK, JUST LOVE IT, oh and b4 i 4get I LOVE HIS WORK, lol, he is AMAZING, he has some of his work framed and titled, i want to do the same thing, dont want to copy him just want to do my own thing, how in GIMP can i do similar work? I think i need to start presenting my work online a bit more professionally looking and i know this will help. Also how do i initial my work without having to do it all the time? Isnt there something where my logo/initials/signature gets saved and all i do is go to it and set it up on my work? Too many question i know, im a newbie, what can i say, lol Anyway here is a sample of what im talking about, alot of photographers do this as well.

Im a member for this other website (http://www.lightstalking.com/), who by the way has very good tips and advises as well, this is the lates they've posted about GIMP. I've had GIMP for a while and dont ever use it because its sooo confusing, but then again i dont take the time to play with it, so its my fault, lol lately i kinda started playing with it a bit more and i'm liking it, i have photoshop elements 4 and like others i keep going back to it for faster editing just cuz im use to it, but im defenetly going to try a bit harder to learn it cuz i know my work can use more, lol, and not to mention thats its FREE, you'll read more about it in the following link, think about it cuz if u have to learn a program u might as well learn a free one, lol, thanx for everything guys.

Hi. I am new to this site and have just downloaded Gimp. I hope to start getting familar with this program to do some of the things that I can not accomplish in Lightroom.
