Took this during our local 4th of July parade and applied an HDR effect.  Not sure what I think yet . . . I wish I could have put more focus on the car . . . I feel like the people in the car are distracting.  Anyone have any thoughts?

I think the background is more distracting than the people driving. The mass of bright colors draws the eye away from the car. Other than that, the composition is nice and the HDR effect is well controlled. I see too many people go overboard trying to create "hyper-real" HDR images.

Thank you for the feedback!

I agree with Jared, the background during parades is very hard to control.  I try to shoot either the beginning, or the end of the route so I can get shots that bring the subject out more. The limited use of HDR in this image brings a lot of detail without wiping out a great example of a 58 Corvette too.

Hi Taunie you can easily blur the people in the background, plus I would give some motion to the wheels, make the car look like its moving, pull the viewers eyes to the main part of the image.

try not to keep the main subject near the edge of your frame because you may may cut a part by accident while the toning is nice
