When I shoot sunrise or sunsets, especially water in them, I dont just grab my camara and run. There are many great shots to be had just before the sun rises and just after the sun goes down.
This is a shot from just after the sun went down. I used a very long shutter speed and pleased when a boat made the ripples.
Any comments welcome. Would love know from all how you shoot a dusk or dawn pic.

this is stunning, love the water, great long exposure shot. I never get to shoot at these times, a it scared of getting mugged or something, i would love to have a go though, the light quality is superb.
I am with Tony. Circular Polarizer, Graduated Neutral density or just a Neutral density filter, depending on the shot. I live in the mountains so I take a lot of river photos. Do I need to say use a tripod and cable release and mirror up?
Great sky color and water blur. I typically shot with an ISO of 200, and at f/16-f/22. If needed I use a GND filter to keep the sky from being over blow. Always use a tripod, and set the camera for a 5 sec delay, so I can get far away from it.
