@Mark Jayson: late na reply ko pero sana makatulong pa :D

yun Mode makikita mo under Image panel. click mo IMAGE>MODE..select mo na if 8 Bits/Channel, 16 or 32.

CTRL+E will just MERGE DOWN the top most layer and the one underneath of it.

To flatten the whole image click CTRL+SHIFT+E or click LAYER and look for Flatten Image option or as Marjurhy mentioned you may also right click on the certain layer you want to flatten and there's an option Flatten Image.

@mark jayson: might be that when u install CS3 you fail to check jpeg..if u dont have that option, just save it it as PNG. That is fine. to flatten ur image u may press CTRL+E for windows...or u can just select a certain layer, right click and there should be an option to Flatten Image or Merge Layers...thats also fine...

@Marjurhy Ann: done that... no luck... jpeg format not on the list.. san ba  ung Mode 32 or 18 or 8? san ko makikita ung mga settings na yon? and how to flatten an image sa CS3?

just go to FILE>SAVE AS>in the FORMAT field/box, you select JPEG> then just hit OK
