If you are looking at small insects you need a lens so that you will not be getting too close to them and that will photograph anything else.

Nikon 60mm f/2.8 AF-S ED Micro
Nikon 105mm f/2.8G-S VR IF ED Micro
Sigma 150mm f/2.8 EX DG Macro
Tamron 90mm f/2.8 SP Di Macro

Are the four you want to choose from.
I have no idea of $ prices.
The Tamron will be the cheapest (it is what I use)
If new costs are too high consider Craigslist or Ebay

i have a nikon d5000 and im not sure but i wanted to start photographing flowers, smalls animals, etc.
